Temporary Walk Rules

Walk Regulations

In order to restart our Walks Programme there have had to be strict limitations to keep us all safe and to ensure that we follow the current government advice.

As of September 3rd the essential restrictions are:

  • The total number of walkers in a walk must not exceed six.
  • Walkers (except for households) must maintain the two metre separation at all times.
  • No car sharing (apart from households).

However, these rules will continue to be updated and the walks will be altered to conform to any new regulations.

To Attend a walk

The details of the next two weeks of walk will appear on the Mid Herts Footpaths Society website at least a week before they are scheduled.

Members interested in the Long Walks and Sunday Walks should phone Peter Cleasby on 07810 774094 to reserve a space on the walk. Wednesday Short Walkers should ring Howard Norfolk on 07768 703201. If the walks are fully booked, extra walks will be arranged.

At the moment lunch can be taken at a pub as usual, sitting outside on tables of 6 maximum. Please say when booking if you wish to eat.

If you cannot join the walk, please inform the leader as soon as possible as it is likely there are others that can take your place.

All leaders have strict instructions to send walkers away if they have not booked. Please do not create problems for the leader and make things unpleasant.

The Future

As restrictions alter, it is hoped to add more people to the walk. All updates will appear on the website as they happen.
